Privacy Policy

Effective · Version 1.1

This Privacy Policy explains what Red Flags (“Red Flags”, “we”, “us”) collects through find-red-flags.com and the services offered through it (the “Service”), why, whom we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — whether you use the Service or appear in a search that someone else ran. It is part of our Terms of Service, and words defined there mean the same thing here.

The short version

Four things to know.

  • Two kinds of people are covered. You, the account holder, and the person you search (the “Subject”). Section 10 is written for Subjects.

  • We keep what a search needs. Your email address, the identifiers you search, and the results stay in your account until you or we delete them. Card numbers never touch us; Stripe holds them.

  • We measure the Service and our ads. Analytics and error monitoring, and advertising measurement with Meta and TikTok that receives a hashed version of your email — never a subject’s details. You can ask us to stop.

  • Want out of a report? Email us. We verify who you are, then delete what we hold about you — from stored reports as well as from your own account.

These four points summarize the policy. The full text below is the policy.

Who this policy covers

In short

It covers everyone whose information passes through the Service: you as an account holder or visitor, and the people whose details you search.

Information we collect from you

In short

Your email address, what you type into the quiz and the search, payment details handled by Stripe, and the technical data any website sees.

Information about the person you search

In short

The identifiers you give us and the results our providers return are stored with your Report and shown to you. We do not build a database of people, we do not sell Subject data, and we do not notify a Subject.

How we use information

In short

To run the Service you asked for, to bill you, to keep the Service secure and enforce its rules, to understand and improve it, to measure our advertising, and to meet legal obligations.

Cookies and similar technologies

In short

A few things are stored in your browser: your sign-in session, your unfinished case file, ad click identifiers, and the analytics and advertising cookies of PostHog, Meta, TikTok and Stripe.

Advertising measurement

In short

We tell Meta and TikTok when a visit, a sign-up or a purchase happens, from your browser and from our servers, so we can measure our ads. That includes a hashed version of your email and a browser identifier — never anything about a Subject. California law calls this “sharing”, and you can opt out.

Whom we share information with

In short

Service providers that host, process payments, send email, and measure; the search-data providers that answer a search; the ad platforms; authorities when the law requires it; and anyone you choose to share a Report with.

How long we keep information

In short

Your account and Reports until you delete them or close the account; a search draft for the browser session, plus a server copy for 24 hours once you ask for the signup email; sign-in links for an hour; payment records as long as tax law requires; analytics for a limited time.

Your rights and choices

In short

You can ask for a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, download your Reports, opt out of advertising measurement, and cancel your membership. Email us; we verify the request through your account email and answer within 45 days.

If you appear in a report

In short

If someone searched you, email us: we will tell you what we hold, correct or delete it, and stop it appearing in stored Reports. We cannot remove information from the public sources it came from.

California residents

In short

The categories we collect, the purposes, and the rights the CCPA gives you — including the right to opt out of “sharing” with ad platforms and to limit the use of sensitive information.

Residents of other places

In short

Wherever you live, you have the rights in Section 9 and any others your local law gives you, including the right to complain to your privacy regulator.

Children

In short

The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and searching for a minor is prohibited.

Security

In short

Encrypted connections, no passwords to steal, payments inside Stripe, access limited to what the Service needs, and the identifiers a search names kept out of our analytics and logs. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if something goes wrong.

Where information is processed

In short

Our providers process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate, under contracts that require appropriate protection.

Changes to this policy

In short

We may update this policy. Material changes get notice before they take effect, and the date at the top changes.

Contact
